“I was born in Paris into messy circumstances, both parents rock musicians, but then I studied physics and discovered it’s even messy-er. Nature is based on a set of strange (very complex) laws and the closer you look the weirder they become. I think about these things a lot. Whether or not it shows in my paintings I don’t know. They are primarily an interplay of structure and degrees of surface reflectivity.

I’m sure the pieces will mean different things to different people, to me they are about energy fields, transformations.

I love the creation myths of ancient cultures. They deal with fundamental questions, as do a score of sciences today. I’m not really immersed into the world of contemporary art. I don’t think art should be benign. I use mostly industrial oil paint and acrylic as well: the process when oil-based and water-based media are forced to mix, sometimes under heat, is fundamental to my work.”
